Memorial Service: 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the Western Home, Windhaven Commons, 5500 South Main Street, Cedar Falls, Iowa 50613 with Spiritual Leader Caroline Martin officiating. LeRoy John Newton was born on June 4, 1927 in Arlington, Iowa, the son of Dixon Allen & Agnes Marie (McClarrinon) Newton. He graduated from Arlington High School in the Class of 1945 and continued his education at Upper Iowa University in Fayette. LeRoy was united in marriage to Helen May Sheppard on May 30, 1948 in Manchester, Iowa. LeRoy owned and operated Newton Motor Co. in Arlington for over 40 years. He later worked for John Falb Motor Co. in West Union for nine years, retiring in 1991. LeRoy was a member of the Arlington United Methodist Church and the Oelwein Hebron Masonic Lodge #374 A.F. & A.M. for over 50 years. He formerly was an Arlington City Council Member and Arlington/Starmont School Board Member.
LeRoy is survived by his Wife: Helen Newton of Cedar Falls; 4 Children: Nancy (Mick) Puckett of Ord, Nebraska, John (Mary) Newton of Onalaska, Wisconsin, Holly (Craig) Schwerdtfeger of Cedar Falls & LuAnn (Mark) Bray of Spokane, Washington; 9 Grandchildren & 10 Great Grandchildren.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister: Audrey.
