Mary Vida (Easter) Atchley 93 passed away, October 13, 2016 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. She was born February 11, 1923. Mary was deeply loved by her family and her husband of 72 years who preceded her in death a mere 4 days before her passing. She married Warren Atchley on November 24, 1945 at the age of 21. Mary would spend her first year of marriage following him up and down the East Coast while he served in the Navy. They spent 6 months in Key West, Florida before he would retire from the Navy and move back to Oklahoma City in 1946 where they would spend the rest of their lives. Mary spent 9 years as the secretary to the pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene, and then became a housewife to raise her 2 children. When her daughter was 14 she went to work for JC Penny's in the gift wrapping department then became the secretary at Mid Con Life Insurance where she would retire at the age of 58. Mary loved spending time with her family and helping at the church with funeral dinners. She had many friends from all backgrounds of life. When she would ride the city bus she would sit with her friends with different backgrounds and race and would always get asked to move to the front of the bus, but she would not move. She loved everyone and was a very special lady to her family and anyone she would meet. Her great-grandmother Arah Belle Henderson was full blooded Choctaw and died at the age of 97.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents Roy Easter Sr. and Edna (Stem) Easter, sister Jennie Frances Easter, brother; Roy Easter Jr. She is survived by; Son; Paul W (Sherry) Atchley of Midwest City, daughter; Peggy E. (Paul) Kruse of Melbourne, Australia, grandchildren; Danny (Gin) Carver of Goodman, Mo, Deborah of Goodman, Mo, Brian (Jackie ) Carver of Anderson, Mo, Christina (William) Milligan of Choctaw, Oklahoma, Brandon (Krishanda) of Meeker, Ok, Michelle Callahan of Choctaw, Ok, Cameron (Sarah) Cumming of Melbourne, Australia, Clinton (Jena) Cumming of Melbourne, Australia, great-grandchildren Amie (Erik), Brooke (Les), Josh, Jerika, Jacob, Lucinda, Nathan, Dalton, Haley, Dillion, Gage and Caleb, great-great-grandchildren; Tyler, Kilee, Davin, Tobias, Eva, Raylee, Kambrie, nephews; Larry (Darla) Atchley, Mark (Lisa) Atchley and numerous other family relatives. May she rest in peace!!!
