Actor. Known as J.J. Barry during his career, he was a veteran character actor who appeared in both television and film for four decades. He made his first acting appearance as a regular performer on the NBC hit show "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In" during the 1968-1969 season. He went on to appear on various television shows throughout his career with such credits as "The Corner Bar", "The Bob Newhart Show", "Three's Company", "Alice", "The Love Boat", "Bosom Buddies", "Barney Miller", "Webster", and "Knots Landing". He also appeared in numerous films during his career such as "Last of the Red Hot Lovers" (1972), "Dark August" (1976), "Harper Valley P.T.A." (1978), "History of the World: Part I" (1981), "This is Spinal Tap" (1984), and "Jo Jo Dancer, Your Life is Calling" (1986). His last acting appearance before his passing was in the PBS children's educational program "Mathnet".
