Son of the late Harold H. Fleming and Mabel Elizabeth Markley, he was a veteran of the United States Army (Special Forces). He was survived by his wife, Helen Ruth Lewis Fleming; three children, Mary Turner, Ray Fleming and Jason Fleming (Julie); four grandchildren; three siblings; and an extended family of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Frank Fleming, and by five siblings. His graveside funeral was held on October 15, 2016.
