Vickie Edwards, 56 of Magnolia, AR transitioned to her heavenly home on October 11, 2016, at her home. She was born in Lewisville Memorial Hospital, Lewisville, Arkansas to the late Isaac C. Willis and Shirley Brown Willis, February 23, 1960.

Family Vickie has five remaining siblings, Marilyn of Lewisville, AR., Patsy (Curtis) of Camden, AR, Jackie of Texarkana, AR., Jerry of Portland Oregon and Gary of Benton, AR.

Vickie loved and cared for her family. She provided that emotional and mental strength that each member of her family needed. Her love and care was the backbone on which a beautiful nest called “home” was built. Vickie’s loving memory will be cherished by her two beautiful children: Kimberly (Ramon) Magnolia, Arkansas, and Corey (Shenitra) Magnolia, Arkansas. Vickie loved her grandchildren and her four grandchildren Aaliyah, Chloe, Kai’Lynne and Jaylin. They will miss her dearly. Vickie united in marriage to Archie Edwards July 1994.

Vickie was preceded in death by her father Isaac C. Willis, her paternal grandparents George Willis and Exie Willis, her maternal grandparents Walker D. Brown and Mattie Lee Brown Taylor, grandson RJ Broomfield, and nephew Jerrell Mark Carter.

Church Affiliation Vickie was a member of the Buchanan Baptist Church. She was baptized by Rev. W.R. Glover at Lake June Pond. As a youth member of Buchanan, Vickie was a faithful member of the Sunday School, the Usher Board Department, and the Choir. She kept her official connection with the Buchanan Baptist Church. When she moved back home in 2010, she rejoined the usher board and worked as a faithful member until her health would not allow her to work in the vineyard anymore.

Education and Work Experience Vickie graduated high school from Stamps High School in 1978. After graduation, she was employed at Alan White Co. in Stamps Arkansas where she worked for 15 years. She joined the United States Army in 1980. After the completion of basic training and service in the U.S. Army, she returned to Stamps and resumed her employment at Alan White Co. Other manufacturing jobs for Vickie included: employment at Alco Manufacturing Corporation, LLC. Magnolia, Arkansas, Red River Army Depot, Texarkana, Texas. After her work experience in the manufacturing profession, Vickie attended Southern Arkansas University, Magnolia Arkansas. As a full time student, she worked part time in the business office.

After attending SAU for two years, Vickie decided she wanted to work in the medical field. She received a Certified Nursing Technician Certificate of completion from SAU Tech, East Camden. After receiving her certification, she worked at the Homestead Manor Nursing Home, Stamps, Arkansas, Magnolia Manor Home and Dudneywood Assisted Living Facility, Magnolia, Arkansas. While still working as a Certified Nursing Technician, she worked as a full time paraprofessional at the Stephens School District during 2013-2014 taking care of an individual student.

Every family has its own traditions, which are honored and respected over the generations. She taught her family love. Vickie was family oriented. She loved gathering all the relatives together to tell family stories, watch old movies, eat and laugh. Although she was a woman of few words, she made her presence known by her beautiful smile. Vickie will be missed but never forgotten. Her memory will be cherished by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, many friends and special cousins Velma Easter, and Eddie Gilbert Jr.

There will be a Home Going Funeral Celebration of her life, at Buchanan Baptist Church in Stamps, Arkansas. Pastor, Revernd Charles Smith will be delivering her eulogy. Her earthly body will be laid to rest at Lakeside Cemetery in Stamps, Arkansas
