David “Davey” Michael Cave II, age 36, of Berkeley Springs, WV, beloved son of David and Debbie, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 surrounded by his loving family and friends after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Davey was born on December 13, 1979 in Winchester, VA. He was the son of David Michael and Debora Ann Wilson Cave.

He was a 1999 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School. Davey had a love for sports. He played football, basketball, track, and in earlier years wrestling. After school, he was on a softball team for many years. Davey was an avid weight lifter and trainer, enjoyed hunting, playing cards and watching sports.

Davey will be remembered by many for his wonderful sense of humor and for his smile. He was always the life of a party and could brighten anyone’s day. He enjoyed watching sports and was a loyal fan of Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Virginia Tech.

Davey’s many nicknames were Bud, Budrow, Davey Cavey, Caveman, Big Kahuna, and was called Moose by his co-workers at Cives Steel. He was employed by Cives Steel Company in Winchester, VA until health issues forced him to stop working.

In addition to his parents, Davey is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and well-loved friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Carson and Helen Cave, paternal great grandmother, Minnie Lamp, maternal grandparents James and Catherine Wilson and his special brother Rocky Cave.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, WV, with Pastor Lloyd McCanna officiating. Burial will be in Gainesboro Cemetery in Gainesboro, VA.

Family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2016 at the funeral home.
