Dana R. Hamrick, Sr., 67, of Augusta, WV, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the Winchester Medical Center.

Born April 22, 1943 in Mollie, WV., he was the son of the late Jesse W. and Bonnie Cash Hamrick. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his son Dana R. “Rusty” Hamrick Jr., four brothers; Jesse Hamrick, Allen Hamrick, Harvey Hersman and Erlus Hersman and one sister Jeneta Hersman.

He worked as a mechanic for Bob Novick Chevrolet in Bridgeton, NJ and a member of the Romney Moose #1371 in Romney, WV.

Surviving is his fiancee: Debra Sue McDonald; one son: Donnie M. Kozanecki (Erin) of Warrenton, VA: two daughters: Michelle McGuigan of Vineland, NJ; Leslie Cooper (Jay) of Charleston, WV; two brothers: Rodney Braley (Rebecca) of Ovapa, WV; Denzil Hersman of Strange Creek, WV; three sisters Betty Chapman (Troxel) of Oak Hill WV; Alice O’Dell (Larry) of Bomont, WV; Bonnie Cook (Gary) of Left Hand, WV; six grandchildren: Amber Hamrick, Dustin Cooper, Vicki Cooper, Zachary Kuhn, Samantha Kuhn and Liam Kozanecki.

Graveside service will he held 11:00 am Thursday, September 9, 2010 at the Hamrick Cemetery in Glendon, WV. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay.
