Mrs. Tonya Marie Holloway Edwards, 49, of Lowgap passed away Thursday morning, October 13, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Edwards was born in Surry County on September 25, 1967 to the late Jesse Kirby and Brenda Faye Easter Holloway.
Mrs. Edwards is survived by her devoted husband, Phillip Duane Edwards; daughters and sons-in-law: Kristain and Terry Akers, Jessica and Sam Pruitt; son, Benjamin Edwards; step-daughter and son-in-law, Mindy and Daniel Jackson; grandchildren: Bradley Slone, Adrianna Slone, Corey Akers, Chyanna Pruitt, Nathaniel Jackson, Cheyenne Jackson; a sister and brother-in-law, Tammy and Bradley Watts; a brother and sister-in-law, Timmy and Cathy Holloway; several nieces and nephews; a special niece, Haley Lane; mother-in-law, Teresa Edwards; brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Lindsay Edwards; sister-in-law, Angie Edwards and many close personal friends.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for the wonderful care Mrs. Edwards was given during her illness.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Skyline Memory Gardens with Rev. Zane Fishel officiating.
There will not be a viewing at the funeral home, although the family will welcome friends at the Edwards home.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 400 Technology Lane, Suit 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
