Victor was born in Hibbing, Minnesota to George Minerich (Juro Majnarič) and Teresa "Rosa" Tezac.

Victor served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After the war, he worked as an accountant for Hanna Mining. He also co-owned the Bandbox in Leetonia, Minnesota with his brother Joseph.

Victor was married to Phyllis A. "Babe" Warmuth, and they had six children.

Victor J. Minerich, 83, Hibbing, died peacefully on Wed. Oct. 12, 2016, at Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Mountain Iron, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 31, 1933, to George and Theresa Minerich. He graduated from Hibbing High School and was an Army Sergeant having served in the Korean War and remained an additional eight years in the Army Reserves. Victor and his brother, Joseph, co-owned the Bandbox in Leetonia, where his band, The Polkateers, performed. He was an accountant for Hanna Mining until his retirement and a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Victor was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family. He had a contagious smile that was loved by all. Playing his accordion was a pleasure for him and all of those who enjoyed his music.

He is survived by his children: Debbie (Barry) Polich, Sue (Jeff) Tomassoni, Carrie (Randy) Yuhala, Raelene (Steve) Hartze, John Thronson, and Daniel Thronson; a sister, Lillian (Terry) Twomey; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Victor was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis “Babe”; his parents; and three brothers: George, Albert, and Joseph.

Interment in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing.
