Betty Jo Maloy, age 83, of Moore Haven, passed away October 8, 2016 in Moore Haven.

She was born Feb. 14, 1933 in LaBelle, FL, to the late Charles F and the late Hattie E (Thigpen) Pascher. Betty Jo married Lynn Maloy. Betty Jo worked as a Road Inspector for the Department of Transportation of Florida for many years. Betty Jo was one of the youngest supervisors working at the Pentagon, she and three other young women from LaBelle were recruited by the Pentagon to go to Washington, D.C. to work for United States Military. Betty Jo was a loving wife, caring mother, affectionate grandmother and great grandmother, who will be greatly missed by her entire family.

Survivors include her husband: Lynn Maloy of Moore Haven, children; Roderick "Rick" Bennett, Ronald "Ronnie" Bennett, Sandra Bennett Smith, Russel Maloy, LaTrelle Maloy Smith, grandchildren; Jason Bennett, Ricky Bennett, Nicole Barnes, Brandon Maloy, Lyndsie Smith, Kristopher Smith, Wesley Allison, and Tyler Smith and eleven great grandchildren, sister: Linda Hopper.

Betty Jo was preceded in death by her brothers; Clyde Pascher, Alton Pascher, Charles Pascher, sisters; Elizabeth Keechl, Annie Howard, Norma Jean Reed and Donna Turner.

A Graveside service will be held Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 11:00 am at Ortona Cemetery, Moore Haven with Rev. Dink Leon officiating. Interment will be Thursday October 14, 2016 in Ortona Cemetery, Moore Haven. Visitation was Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Akin-Davis Funeral Home, LaBelle, Florida
