David Leroy Chilton, son of the late Roy and Eudora (Patterson) Chilton was born December 2, 1938 in Ellington, MO., and departed this life on October 12, 2016 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO., with his family by his side. He had attained the age of seventy-seven years, ten months and ten days. David had resided in Ellsinore since 1996 and was formerly of Arnold, MO. He was a Supervisor for Big Springs Park and had retired from Chrysler as a Millwright. David served our country in the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion and neighborhood watch. David was Proud to be a military veteran and was honored to have served our country. He enjoyed fishing and had been to Canada several times for fishing trips. He enjoyed hunting and loved running his bulldozer and working outside. David was of the Baptist faith. He was the most honest person you would have ever met. He was generous, loved to help others, had a good sense of humor, loved his sweets, and mostly he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. On October 8, 1994, he was united in marriage to Violette Boyer, who survives of the home. Survivors include four daughters; Karen Welch and husband Mike of Hopkinsville, MO., Cathy Calhoun and husband Kenny of Arnold, MO., Theresa Walker and husband Lou of St. Louis, MO., and Tracie Plopper and husband Kenny of St. Louis, MO., seven grandchildren; Jacob, Ashley, Michelle, Cassidy, Jacob, Sarah and Vanessa, fifteen great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends who mourn his passing. Visitation will begin for the public at 6:00 p.m. Friday October 14, 2016, at the McSpadden Funeral Home in Ellsinore, with the Funeral Services being held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday in the Funeral Home Chapel.
