SWAMPSCOTT — Richard F. Langford, age 85, of Swampscott, died Oct. 4, 2016, following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Lois (Santry) Langford, and the son of the late Ronald and Bernadette (Thibedeau) Langford. Born and raised in Lynn, Richard lived in Swampscott most of his life. He was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. Richard worked as a carpenter in the Swampscott and Lynn area, and was an avid boater.

Besides his loving wife Lois of 61 years, he is survived by his two sons, Richard Langford Jr., of Marblehead and S. Douglas Langford and his wife Sandi of N.C., his daughter Lisa White and her husband Kendrick of New Jersey and two brothers, Ronald Langford and Paul Langford, both of Florida. He also leaves four grandchildren Emily Caron, Colby and Palmer White, and Sydney Langford. He was the father of the late Suzanne Langford and brother of the late Mary Doyle, Eileen Ventresca, Margaret Johnson and James Langford.

Service information: A graveside service will be held at the Veterans Lot of Swampscott Cemetery on Friday at 12 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Item Santa, 110 Munroe St., Lynn, MA 01901. Directions and guest book at Solimine.com.
