John Hodgen in the Hinshaw Quaker records for the Wrightsborbough Monthly Meeting, Vol. I, page 1048, John Hodgen was mentioned as leaving the Society of Friends (Quakers) and joining the Baptist church.

It also mentions that John Hodgen, along with his son, Robert Hodgen 1742-1810, left the Society of Friends (Quakers) because of “Warlike Tendencies” and joined the Baptist Church.
