Sgt. Castro of Chalan Pago always had a strong connection to the Christmas holiday. He was even cast as baby Jesus in his church nativity play, but didn't make it because he was born days later than expected. But Christmas 2006, his newborn son played the role his father didn't get to, starring as the baby Jesus in the Our Lady of Peace and Safe Journey Catholic Church's nativity play. He was a 2003 high school graduate and was assigned to Schofield Barracks. Fight promoter Roman Dela Cruz, who started to train Castro when Castro was 15, described him as strong, athletic and respectful. He was really happy to defend his country. He is survived by his wife, Theresa, and son, Jesse Jr. He and other soldiers were on mountain patrol when an improvised explosive device was detonated. He was killed by the bomb in Hawijah at age 22. Sec H Row I Site 15
