Lucy Jane Vaughn dies at Kankakee
Lucy Jane Vaughn, 92, died at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 1967 at Kankakee.
She was born May 15, 1875 at Pulaski County, Kentucky, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom D. Dalton. She was married to Milton Roberts who died in 1905. She was married again in March, 1908 to Archie Vaughn, he died in June 1926.
She is survived by three sons, John Roberts of Monticello; Dennis Vaughn, Ludlow; Ecus Vaughn, White Health, and four daughters: Mrs. Charity Davis, Monticello; Beulah Henderson, Farmer City; Euma Glynn, Clinton, and Myrtle Henderson, Nancy, Kentucky.
Also Surviving are a stepson, Luther Roberts, Dewitt; a sister, Ethie McLain of Lafayette, Ind.; Two half-sisters, Mattie Burton, Deland and Hattie of Ohio; three half-brothers, Harlan Dalton, Lodge; Herbert Dalton, Weldon and Hubert Dalton, Florida.
Mrs. Vaughn was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Eula Hoffman and two sons, Veston and Luke Vaughn. A daughter and triplet daughters died in infancy.
She is also survived by 31 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren.
