She was born on July 18, 1935, in Oak Park, Georgia, to the late James Walter and Eva Alice Moore Daniels. Kitty was a kind-hearted and gentle soul, a woman of great faith in Jesus, and she always radiated joy to everyone she encountered. Whenever you saw her she greeted you with a smile and a hug. She was a loving wife and mother, and the greatest Nana her grandchildren and great-grandchildren could ever ask for – she will be sorely missed and forever in our hearts.
In her younger years, Kitty enjoyed working with special needs children at Midlands Center in Columbia. She was an extraordinary homemaker and an amazing cook. Her homemade biscuits and gravy, potato salad, and southern sweet tea were some of the family favorites. She was a long time member of Shandon Baptist Church where she attended the Joy Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Bill McDonald Amos; sisters, Mattie Wilma Williamson, Ruby Hazel Hall; and brothers, Henry Daniels, Jimmy Daniels, Charles Daniels, and James W. Daniels, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Shandon Baptist Church, 5250 Forest Drive, Columbia SC, 29206, with Reverend Dennis Banks and Reverend Jerry Long officiating.
