Stephen Peter Waters, 53, of Edmeston, died Friday, October 07, 2016 at Chenango House, Pathfinder Village.

He was born December 4, 1962, in Montclair, New Jersey to George J. and Margaret (Ryan) Waters. Stephen was raised in Essex Fells, New Jersey, moved to Pathfinder Village when he was nineteen.

Stephen participated in the Special Olympics, bowling and had a special interest in swimming. He loved animals, especially dogs. Stephen had a keen sense of humor and a quick wit. He was a loveable guy and if you were lucky enough to meet him you had a friend for life.

For several years, Stephen worked at the ARC Workshop in Oneonta.

Stephen is survived by his mother, Margaret Waters, NJ; siblings, Mary (Oscar) Bate, NJ; Michael (Ellen) Waters, MA; Susan (Rick) Tanner, NJ; Trish (Chris) Eden, WA; and G.J. (Alex) Waters, NJ; uncle and aunt, Joseph and Barbara Waters, Oneonta; many loving nieces, nephews and cousins and the wonderful management, staff, residents and friends at Pathfinder Village. He was predeceased by his father, George Waters; grandmother, Marguerite Waters; aunt, Marguerite R. Waters.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 10, 2016 at 11:00 am in Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Rev. David Mickiewicz officiating.
