Minister Rosie B. Taylor was born Rosa B. Clarke on January 19, 1934. She was the only child born to the late Lillie Harper and Eugene Clarke. She peacefully left this earth on Friday, September 23, 2016.

She was married to the late Herbert Taylor. Five children were born from this union, Bruce, Brownetta and Jerome. Robert "Chuck" and Celestine "Toot" preceded her in death. Minister Taylor was educated in the public school system of Nashville, Tennessee.

She accepted Christ as her personal savior at a very early age and was a member of Saint James Missionary Baptist Church, First Street Missionary Baptist Church, Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church and Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church and was eager to spread the gospel wherever she attended. Singing being her true passion allowed her to become an active member of multiple choirs. During her time at Saint James, she was a member of the #2 choir and sang as a soloist on church programs. She was a strong believer in public service and served on Model Cities,a government organization responsible for deciding the future look of Nashville. She gave of her time and talents liberally while with this and other organizations. She was one of the few female ministers in the area and attended ABT Seminary, while a member of First Street Baptist. She also sang in other multi-denominational choirs including BC&M Mass Choir and the Love Train Choir.

She was Executive Director of Project Help Inc., a non-profit who's mission was to help residents in need with housing, food and utility concerns. She coordinated food drives for the city in conjunction with radio station WVOL . She was a re-occurring guest on the Lucille Barbie Gospel Hour and helped to spread the message of Christ through broadcast. Minister Taylor was part of the ministerial staff at both Mt. Calvary Baptist and Mt. Gilead Baptist. She was a frequent guest on Mt. Gilead's radio program "The Balm in Gilead". She was active in the church until her health began to fail.

She is survived by her sons, Bruce and Jerome Taylor; her devoted daughter, Brownetta Taylor; daughter-in-law, Vivian; grandchildren, Zynthia Jetton, Herbert, James, Jasmine and Corey Taylor; as well as a host of great grandchildren, great nieces and great nephews, other relatives and friends.
