Thelma Lee Murphy was born on October 9, 1925, in Byhalia, Mississippi to Amy Lou Tennial and Moses Rankins.

Her funeral service was held on Saturday October 8, 2016 at 11:00 am at Jerome Boyd Chapel @ Dixie Funeral Home (Bolivar, TN) with Minister Willie Bandy in charge. Burial was in the Patrick Cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home (www.dixiefuneralhome.com) was in charge of the professional service.

Thelma was united in Holy Matrimony to Benny Frank Murphy in 1950.

She accepted Christ at an early age as a member at Antioch Baptist Church and later joined The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1974.

Thelma was a loving person who was full of life, laughter, love and fun. She showed love and kindness to everyone. Thelma loved to cook, preparing meals for family, friends, and fellow witnesses. Thelma’s presence, wisdom, stories, and motherly love will be greatly missed.

On Saturday, October 1, 2016, Thelma Lee Murphy transitioned to her new home.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents: Amy Lou Tennial and Moses Rankins; husband: Benny Frank Murphy, daughter: Mary Ann Murphy; sisters: Jessie Lee Bandy, Margret Jones, and Judith Jones; brother: Moses Rankins, Jr.; and great grandchild: Mykala Bowden.
