Lewis "Lew" Kinnie Boydston, age 77 of Farwell, passed away at home surrounded by his family, on Monday, October 10, 2016, in Lake.

Lew was born on November 4, 1939 in Wayland, Michigan, to parents Donald Arthur and Eva Clara (McIntyre) Boydston one of nine children.

After High School Lew enlisted and proudly served with the United States Navy and served for 10 years. He earned a Good Conduct Medal, an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and a National Defense Service Medal.

He married Joyce Anderson on January 24, 1975 in Kalamazoo, MI and together they raised two daughters. He worked as a sheet metal worker in the construction industry.

Lew was a member of the Clare VFW Post, American Legion Post, held an honorary Degree of the Military Order of the Cooties, a past Grand of the Seam Squirrel of MI, a Lions Club member, volunteered at the Naval Museum in Pensicola FL., and served as a volunteer at the Ft. Custer VA Hospital.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Joyce, his daughters Charlene Lanning and husband Gale of Grand Rapids, Catherine Berg and husband Jay of Springbook Missouri, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, five sisters and three brothers.

A funeral service is planned for Friday, October 14th at 1PM at the Campbell-Stocking Funeral Home in Farwell. Friends and family may visit on Friday from 11AM until the time of the service. Pastor Connie Bongard will officiate, and burial will take place at the Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI. Memorial considerations to St Jude Children's Hospital.
