Albert J. "Bud" Nesbitt, 78, of West Deer, died 1:12 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 9, 2003) in St. John Lutheran Care Center, Mars.
Born Dec. 5, 1924, in Pittsburgh, he lived in West Deer 49 years.

He served in World War II as a Sergeant in the Army Air Corp.

Mr. Nesbitt was a river engineer with the Gateway Clipper Fleet, Pittsburgh, where he worked for 31 years.

He was a member of St. Victor Roman Catholic Church, West Deer, and the Rose Ridge Golf League.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Regina G. Skurka Nesbitt; five sons, Michael A. (Terry) Nesbitt of Ambridge, James J. (Rachelle) Nesbitt of Hampton, and Christopher J. (Jane) Nesbitt, Daniel F. (Teruko) Nesbitt and David J. (Julie) Nesbitt, all of Cincinnatti, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Cathlene N. (Thomas) Wilbrink of Lawrence; 16 grandchildren; a brother, Kieran (Gena) Nesbitt of Florida; and three sisters, Alice Prosky of Fox Chapel, Mary Laser of Pittsburgh and Mrs. Kay (William) Nieser of West Deer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Isabelle Beyer Nesbitt; a brother, Leroy Nesbitt; and a sister, Isabel Blake.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday in St. Victor Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Frazer.
