PAUL E. MOHRMAN, 77, of Minster died peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours of Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at his residence. He was born November 19, 1938 near New Bremen, the son of the late Elmer H. & Hermine W. (Topp) Mohrman Obringer. On Labor Day weekend of 1978, he met his wife, Rosalee Varno, and she survives near Minster.

Also surviving are his children: Michael (Danielle) Mohrman of Houston, Ohio, Monica (Mike) Bushman of New Bremen, Gert Sponiac of Germany, Lutz Trautzsch of Lima, Ohio, Terri (Scott) Slover of Piqua, Mike (Paula) Varno of Covington, Vicky Tufts of Piqua, and Dorothy (Zack) Porter of Botkins; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; a sister Mary Mohrman of Seattle, WA, a brother John (Carol) Mohrman of New Bremen; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his siblings: Ruth Obringer, Herman Mohrman, Earl Mohrman; numerous step-brothers and sisters, including Leroy Obringer and Alvin Obringer; and a son-in-law, Mike Tufts.

Paul was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen and was a 1956 graduate of New Bremen High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961-1964, spending much of that time as a mechanic in Germany. He was a member of the Ft. Loramie American Legion Post 355. He was a mechanic at the former Advance Auto of New Bremen for many years before purchasing and operating Mauri's Restaurant in Minster from 1969-1980. After 1980, he went to work at the Lake Loramie State Park as part of the Dredge Crew until his retirement in 1998. Paul loved to fish, work in his garden, play card games, and travel. He also enjoyed listening to old country music, taking walks to the state park, and watching NASCAR. He will be remembered as a story-telling, hard-working man that would do anything for anyone.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Saturday, October, 15, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen with the Rev. Becky Erb Strang officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services at the church.
