son of Orval William Hopper and Mildred A. Snell-Hopper of Harrisonville, MO. After high school, he enlisted in the Marines and served in Vietnam. After four years of service, Ken returned to civilian life. He earned his living as a carpenter in the construction industry. Ken married Karen Harris on June 5, 1993. He enjoyed his time with the VFW Post #1894 of Clinton, MO.

Survivors include his wife of the home; a son Derek Hopper (Danielle) of Myrtle Beach, SC; a daughter, Sherrie Hopper of Clarinda, IA; three grandchildren, Bailey, Sophia and Cruz; five foster-grandchildren, Austin, Kelsey, Brandon, Hunter and Kailynn; also, 2 sisters, Barbara Mead of Harrisonville, MO and Verna Ware (Harold) of Richmond, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Tammy Grinlinton.

The family will receive visitors from 10:00 to 11:30 AM on August 10, 2016 at the V.F.W. Post #1894, Clinton. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:30 AM, also at the V.F.W. An inurnment with Military Honors will follow at 1:00 PM at Englewood Cemetery.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to either VFW Post 1894 or Crossroads Hospice and left in care of Consalus Funeral Home, 209 S. 2nd St., Clinton, MO 64735.
