Mrs. Katie Overby Blake, resident of Garden City, SC passed away at her home after months of declining health. She was born in Durham, NC, the daughter of the late Callie Couch Overby and the late Pleasant Overby Sr. Mrs. Blake is also preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Blake and two brothers, Charles Overby and Bruce Overby. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Jan and husband, Richard Beecher of Garden City, SC and Donna and husband, Bruce Hearn of Durham; her companion, "Noel"; one brother, Pleas C. Overby Jr. of Myrtle Beach SC; one sister, Margaret Averett of Durham; and three grandchildren, Monica Harrison, Jason Hearn and Tammy Hearn.
