MATHENY, RICHARD STANLEY "STAN," 85, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2006. He was born in Springfield, OH and was a 40-year resident of West Buechel. He was retired from Jeff Boat Co. and a member of Lynnhurst United Church of Christ. Stan loved fishing with his son and grandsons and playing cards at Jeffersontown Senior Citizen Center. He was a U of K fan and enjoyed watching his grandson Matt wrestle.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Freda Mae (Hatfield) Matheny; their two children, Richard S. Matheny (Kathy) and Rhonda Sue Gross (Pete); his five daughters, Marie Matheny, Louise Cox, Geraldine Miller, Mona Patterson and Ellen Freisel; Freda's children, Sherry Hayes (Gary) and Steven Reed (Linda); sister, Imogene Friend; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great- grandchildren.
Funeral service: 2 p.m. Saturday at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home with private entombment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation at the funeral home 3-8 p.m. Friday and after 10 a.m. Saturday.
