Daughter of Charles Townsend Terry and Emma V. Comstock, Ethel was born at the Terry homestead on Ebey's Prairie. She attended Coupeville Grade School, Coupeville High School and the Whidbey Academy. In 1910 she married Arthur Lawrence Kineth in the house where she was born. They lived at the Kineth farm on Smith's Prairie. They had no children.

She was survived by her husband; three sisters, Mrs. Ben (Edith) Tufts of Coupeville, Mrs. Wallace (Marie) Benson of Seattle and Mrs. Reuben (Ruth) Harrison of Olympia; three half-sisters, Mrs. Lute Robb, Miss Blanche Terry, both of Seattle, and Mrs. Inez Calhoun of Phoenix, Arizona; and one half-brother, William Terry of Camano Island. Another half-brother, Grove Terry died in 1904.
