Geraldine E. “Geri” Kozak, 88, of Beatrice died at Beatrice Good Samaritan Center on Friday, October 7, 2016. She was born November 5, 1927 at Diller. She married Jesse Kozak on February 12, 1946 at Washington, KS and was a stay-at-home mom with her three children as well as mom to many other children in the neighborhood. She was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church and currently a member of St. John Lutheran Church both of Beatrice.

Survivors include her husband Jesse of Beatrice; one daughter, Sherry Buswell and husband Richard of Santa Rosita, CA; two sons, Terry Kozak of Chadron and David Kozak and wife Kristen of Durango, CO; two grandchildren, Sasha Kozak and Jason Crabtree; two great-grandchildren, Arial Crabtree and Keelan Crabtree; three sisters, Arlene McCarty of Hixson, TN, Dixie Jones and husband Elwood of Greenville, NC and Khirrolyn Howland of Shawnee, KS; three brothers, Gary Schoen and wife Patricia of Mentone, AL, Kenneth Schoen and wife Mary Jane of Washington, KS, Danny Schoel of Parsons, KS; two sisters-in-law, Ila Klontz and husband James of Orlando, FL and Pat Kozak of Casper, WY; one brother-in-law, Ernest Kozak of Orlando FL; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Catherine Fanders Schoen; one brother, Gayle Schoen, Sr.; one sister-in-law, Louise Staley and husband Dean and one brother-in-law, Arthur Kozak.

At Geri’s request, her body was donated to the Nebraska Anatomical Board. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Beatrice Good Samaritan Chapel with Pastor Greg Gabriel officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. A memorial has been established to the family’s choice. A guestbook for signatures will be available on Friday, November 4, 2016 from 8:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice and at the Beatrice Good Samaritan Chapel one hour preceding the services on Saturday.
