Barbara Ann Jennings Tilley Martin passed away peacefully, at her home, on October 4, 2016 in Weatherford, Texas at the age of 80.
She was born on March 16, 1936 in Baytown, Texas to Ethyl and Louis Jennings. Barbara attended school in Weatherford High School 1954. She married Don Wilson Martin, her high school sweetheart. Barbara began working as a stylist and was a hair dresser for more than 60 years. Her children remember her as a caring mother. She was an active member at Northside Baptist Church. Barbara loved singing in the choir, travelling, reading, cooking, and loved her “bling.”
Survivors include her daughters Karen Tilley Sharp, Cynthia Tilley Tyre, and Gaylene Tilley; grandchildren Kristi Little, Chance Tyre, Charley Tyre, Chad Tyre and his wife Ashley, and Michelle Phillips; great-grandchildren Star Little, Ivy Little, Kiley Tyre, Jordan Tyre, Bryson Tyre, Brennan Tyre, Baylee Tyre, and Brenley Phillips; and one great-great-grandchild Alijah Casillas; great friend Houston Green; step-children Mary Dawn Martin, Don Andrew Martin and his wife Shelby, Jennifer Martin Robinson and her husband Will; step-grandchildren Brick Martin, Bree Martin, Brock Martin, Brae Martin, Adrienne Martin, Brianna Martin, Rebecca Robinson, Michael Robinson. She is preceded in death by Ethyl Boykin and Louis Jennings; her sons Kevin Ray Tilley, and Brian L. Tilley, her husbands B.L. Tilley and Don Wilson Martin.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 am, Tuesday, October 11 at Northside Baptist Church. Pastor Van Hauser will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Barbara’s life.
