MIDLAND - Shawn Franklin Ellis, age 51, of Odessa, passed away in Midland on Sunday, October 9, 2016. He was born in Odessa on September 29, 1965 to Barbara (Barr) Martin and the late Lee Sloan Ellis. He worked as a tech for Siemens.

Shawn was very intelligent and mechanically inclined. He could take anything apart and put it back together, including working on computers. He enjoyed playing the saxophone. He was an active worship leader and also taught some Sunday school classes. A very loving person, Shawn was generous to a fault. He would drop everything he had going to go and help someone else in need. He loved and lived for his fur babies.

His dad and sister: George Anne Bridges, precede him in death.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Friday, October 14, 2016 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Braswell and Bro. Clydell Chapman. Interment will follow at Ector County Cemetery.
