On August 19, 2016, our beloved mother, Essie Arnold was called to be with the Lord. She was born February 5, 1931 in the Pleasant Hill Community of New Bern, N.C. She was the 7th child of 11 children born to the late Fred and Annie Dillahunt. She retired from the Navy Exchange, Little Creek. After retiring she volunteered at Bayside Hospital for many years, where she cared for the critically ill. She was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church. Essie was predeceased by a son; Cornelius, four sisters; and three brothers. A funeral will be held Friday, August 26 at 11a.m. at Morning Star Baptist Church, 4780 First Court Rd., Va. Beach. The viewing will be Thursday, August 25 from 5-7p.m. at Community Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. The burial will be Monday, 11a.m. at Albert G. Horton Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk
