Richard B. Gordon, a Dublin resident for 54 years, and Right-of-Way Agent for Alameda County for 50 years passed away suddenly on July 5th, 2016. He was born on October 5, 1926 in Oakland to Frank and Catherine Gordon.
He is survived by his eight children, Stephen (Ellie), Frank, Betsy (Bob), Joseph, Paul, Barbara (Danny) Susan and Maggie (Eddie). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren many nieces and nephews, and his loving friend, Mary Ann.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Mona, his son-in-law Tom, his sister Pat and brother Frank.
"Flash" was known for his generous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He was a passionate sports fan, especially of the Giants, Cal Bears and 49ers.
He proudly served in the Merchant Marines during WWII.
Services will be held on Saturday, July 16 11:00 am at Crosswinds Church, 1660 Freisman Rd. in Livermore with burial to follow at Pleasanton Pioneer Cemetery on Sunol Blvd in Pleasanton.
