In checking the records of Greenlawn Cemetery and speaking with the caretaker, I was unable to locate the resting place for John Hershey. The records indicate his resting place is unknown ---FIND A GRAVE ID 47609311
John's obituary found in Crestline Citizen July 12, 1906, indicates burial in Crestline Cemetery. The obituary says he worked for his father until about 1849 when John married, his father dying about that time. His father had actually died 1844, probate records found in Richland County. The obituary, written over 60 years after the father's death, understandably considers the same decade "about that time".
