Harry Lee Adkins, age 74, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at his home in Carrollton, Missouri.

Harry was the son of Russell William and Elizabeth Louise (Millsap) Adkins, born on March 14, 1942 in Wakenda, Missouri.

He attended grade school in both Wakenda and Carrollton, graduating from Carrollton High School in 1960. Harry proudly served his Country in the United States Army. He enjoyed working in the construction business with his dad, and later he was self employed as a very talented carpenter.

Harry is survived by his mother Elizabeth, of the home; one son, Russell W. Adkins, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one daughter, Tonya Spears, of Raleigh, North Carolina; two sisters, Mary McLean and significant other, Gary Gay, of Topeka, Kansas and Sandy Sturgeon, of Carrollton, Missouri; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; special nieces and nephews; and special great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Harry will lie-in-state on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Bittiker Funeral Home, 1201 North US 65 Highway, Carrollton, Missouri.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton, Missouri.
