Steven D. Crawford, 60, of Union Deposit, Harrisburg, transitioned into eternal life on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at his mother's home.

He was born in Harrisburg, PA son of Mary Thompson and the late Sam Banks. Wrongly convicted of murder at the age of 14 and sentenced to life in prison. Steve and his family fought a relentless battle with the criminal justice system for his freedom. In June of 2002 he was set free and exonerated after spending 28 years. He never took the plea, that's innocence. Of importance, he believed in God and accepted Jesus as his Savior; leaving us all a blueprint on how to endure life's trials and tribulations without bitterness. His huge, bright, smile, and kindness will be remembered.

He leaves to celebrate his life, Shaquesst Tumer, son and mentee Trinity Danzey, sisters Linda D. Thompson (former Mayor), Ivra Kendall, Patricia Price, Susan Jones, brothers Michael Crawford, Darnell Crawford, Victor Banks, several nephews and nieces Ray, Mike, Tony, Mia, Lakita, Shelly, Darnell Jr. Siedah, Shanell and a host of counsins. Also was preceded in death by his brother Seymour Crawford.
