Irena Junior in GA and she was Executor of his 1851 Last Will - probate in Cherokee County, GA, which mentions his children by 1st wife Mary Blanton Hawkins Cox:
Elizabeth Ann (Cox) Pyron;
John W. Cox (born 1835);
I descend through their daughter:
Mary Martha Cox, aka Mrs. Mary Margaret Cox Banks (b. 1825 in Oglethorpe Co, GA - d. 1910 in Atlanta, GA, burial at LaGrange, Troupe Co, GA) who married Henry Banks (1st of 3).
Prior to 1840, John M. Cox purchased the first tavern in the area, which was conducted by Mr. Tandy Key, then changed the name to Cox's Tavern, now located at the Shingleroof Campground, Shingleroof Methodist Campground, at 200 Campground CT, in McDonough, GA, on Georgia Highway 155.
