The proper accounting officer of the Treasury Department , 2 March 1833 authorized and required, in the settlement of the accounts of Edward B Babbit, a lieutenant in the Navy of the United State, to allow him a credit sum of $781.50, being an amount received from the purser by him while acting as Commander of the frigate Guerriere, in January of 1831, in the Pacific ocean, under the former regulations of the Naval Service, beyond the amount to which he was entitled according to the regulations digested and published in the year 1832.
