Evelyn Coats
EATON RAPIDS--Mrs. Evelyn Coats, 63, of 8804 Coats Road, Narrow Lake, died Sunday at the Eaton Rapids Community Hospitsl[sic].

Mrs. Coats was an Eaton Rapids area resident for 35 years. She was active in the Eaton Rapids Order of Eastern Star, the Bethany Shrine of Charlotte and the Brookfield Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Forest[sic] A.; a son, Edwin J. of Narrow Lake; five daughters, Mrs. Mary J. Hawkins of East Lansing, Mrs. Dorothy A. Noble of Arizona, Mrs. Nine[sic] L. Simpson of Florida, Mrs. Flora M. Montgomery of Charlotte and Mrs. Carolyn R. Page of Eaton Rapids; a brother, Edwin J. Meek Jr. of Traverse City; 22 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Sinner Chapel, Eaton Rapids. Burial will be in the Clarence Center Cemetery, Duck Lake.

NARROW LAKE -- Services were held Wednesday for Mrs. Evelyn (Meek) Coats, 63, of 8804 Coats Road, who died Sunday in Eaton Rapids Community Hospital.

Mrs. Coats, an area resident for 35 years, was active in the Eaton Rapids Order of Eastern Star, the Bethany Shrine of Charlotte and the Brookfield Methodist Church.
