Carl E. Presley, age 83, of Sweetwater, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2016, at Sweetwater Hospital. He was of the Baptist faith. A veteran of the U.S. Army, and had served as a Monroe County Constable for 16 years. Retired from Vestal Manufacturing after 45 years of service. Preceded in death by his son: Carl E. Presley, Jr., his parents, and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife of 64 years: Willie “Jackie” Green Presley, daughter and son-in-law: Coleen and Keith Roach, son and companion: Steve Presley, and Christi Thompson, grandchildren: Jason Raby and companion Ashley Taylor, Annie Presley, all of Sweetwater, Gene Presley, of Etowah, Justin and wife Ashley Raby of Tellico Plains, 7 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law: Ruby Burnette, Virginia Johnson, both of Illinois, Mary Ann Green, of Florida, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at Kyker Funeral Homes, Sweetwater, from 5:00P.M. until 7:00P.M. with the funeral service to follow at 7:00P.M. in Kyker’s Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Cook officiating. Interment 11:00A.M. Wednesday in the West View Cemetery with full military honors provided by the members of the Sweetwater V.F.W. Gold Star Post 5156, members of the Monroe County Disabled American Veterans Association Chapter #93, and members of the Sweetwater American Legions Chapter # 106.
