KENNETH AHLBERG
Nov. 14, 1930 - Mar. 22, 2014

SALEM - A wonderful man has passed from earth to be with Christ his Savior.

Ken was born in Estacada, Oregon to Theodore and Elva Mae Ahlberg. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, JoAnn, dauhters Terry Morrill (Sherm) and Catherine Quinnett (Dan), granddaughters Katie, Shannon, Melissa and Susie, seven great-grandchildren, brother Arnold Ahlberg (Aileen), and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Ted Ahlberg. Ken loved and was loved by all.

As a young man Ken was a crew chief in the Air Force and a longtime member of the Air Force Reserves. He was a graduate of the University of Oregon. He came to Salem in 1959 to work for Allstate Insurance, although most of his career was with the State of Oregon. At retirement he was a budget manager for the Children's Services Division.

Ken often said what a good life he and JoAnn had, with wonderful children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They spent many years enjoying their Bayliner live-aboard boat and later their travel trailer. They traveled to Europe several times including Sweden where Ken has wonderful relatives. Their favorite place was always Hawaii, where they were fortunate to go for many years.

Ken's family would like to thank the staff of Forget-Me-Not-Elder Care Home for their loving care of him his last two weeks of his life.

Ken was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church where he and JoAnn have been members for 45 years. A memorial service for Ken will be held there on Saturday, March 29, at 11:00 a.m. The address is 1350 Court St. NE in Salem. Memorial contributions in Ken's honor may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, or to Parkinson's Resources of Oregon, 3975 Mercantile Dr., Suite 154, Lake Oswego, OR 97035. Arrangements by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
