Junior was the son of Jackson Truman Alcorn (1886-1968) and Luvena Thomas (1892-1969). He had six siblings: Louiza, Mertyl, Jewell, Raymond Roy, Hettie and James Herman.
He married Geneva Gregory in Bristow, Oklahoma. They had two children.
Junior served in the Army in WWII as a heavy equipment operator where he spent time in Holland, Germany, France, England and possibly Norway.
Junior was also engaged in farming throughout his life. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an active member of the Church of God with his wife in Welty, Oklahoma.
