Wayne grew up in Jameston and graduated from Shelley High School. He also attended Idaho State University trade school. On July 1, 1955, he married Anne in Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born four children, Duane, Dennis, Debra, and Darlene. Wayne and Anne made their home in Shelley, where Wayne worked as a contractor and carpenter. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling. He loved to bowl and was in a bowling league for many years. He built homes and enjoyed working with wood. Survivors beside his loving wife of 61 years included: sons Duane (Jan) Christensen of Garland, UT, and Dennis (Penny) Christensen of Shelley; daughters Debra (Ed) Hammond of Rigby and Darlene (John) Hartley of American Falls; brothers Robert (Stephanie) Christensen of Provo, UT, and Lynn Christensen of Oregon; sisters Linda (Leland) Matheson of Utah, Julie Hicks of Oregon and Colleen Christensen of Idaho Falls; and 19 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren. Funeral services held Wednesday, October 12th at Jameston LDS Ward chapel; Bishop Allen officiated.
