Kathleen, 92, of Grand Ledge, Mi. passed away peacefully at the Hospice House of Mid-Michigan on Sunday, September 25, 2016 surrounded by her family. Kathleen was born to the late Charles and Cora (Hooker) Niver.
She worked as a Nurse for the Visiting Nurse Services until her retirement in 1986. Kathleen loved doing crossword puzels, going on casino trips, embroidering, gardening, and most of all time spent with her family.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years Floyd Simmons Jr. in 1995, a grandson Mark Simmons, a brother Donald Niver, 2 sisters, Violet Finkel and Marion Gallaway, a daughter-in-law Bonnie Simmons, and son-in-laws, Gordon Walter and Walter Gardner.
She is survived by her 6 children, Sandra Walter, Robert (Martha) Simmons, Michael Simmons, Floyd E.(Bonnie) Simmons, Pamela Gardner, and Debra (James) Bengel, 15 grand children, 20 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren with another on the way, and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Delta Chapel with Chaplain Steve Ezop officiating. Entombment followed in Deepdale Memorial Park.
