Joseph E. Butcher, age 89, of Buckhannon, WV passed away Friday, October 07, 2016, at Holbrook Nursing Home. He was born on November 13, 1926, in Lewis County, WV, a son of the late William and Georgia Garrett Butcher. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Patty J. Taylor Butcher on December 15, 2002, and one sister and several brothers. He is survived by one daughter Diana Vincent and husband Tim of Buckhannon, WV and one son Joseph E. Butcher, II of Snowshoe, WV; three grandchildren: Casey Rolenson and husband Carlos, Holly Currence and husband Brent and Joseph E. Butcher, III; and three great grandchildren: Chantz, Kendal and Kolton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Butcher was retired after several years of driving a bread delivery truck. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during WW II. In his spare time, he enjoyed tinkering in his garage and watching sports games, especially Pirates baseball. The family has honored Mr. Butcher’s request for cremation. There will be no services.
