Ralph Winston Elliott is Pearlie's son and my father. Ralph took me to Macedonia Methodist Church Cemetery in 1966 in order to show me my grandmother's grave. He said "Here's your grandmother" and, after a few minutes, we turned and left the cemetery. He made no mention of his father.
Lloyd Elliott, Ralph's first cousin, took me to the same cemetery in 1991. He pointed to my grandmother's headstone and indicated that was my grandmother. He then pointed to the piece of slate rock immediately next to it and said "And that's your grandfather". That's how I found out where Pearlie's grave is. My own father did not care enough to even acknowledge his own father!
