Pat passed away Saturday, December 16, 2006, at her home in Lancaster, California, with her daughter Lisa L. Ralphs and friend Lisa Ziegler at her side. Pat courageously battled numerous health issues her entire life, from polio at age 19, to Leukemia and Lymphoma at her time of death.
Until April 2005, Pat lived in her beautiful home on Meyer Street in the city of San Fernando. Her home was her castle and she kept it so clean some would say "you could eat off her floors". Pat was a full time homemaker and loved to entertain friends and family. She loved growing vegetables and beautiful flowers and grew almost every type of rose possible.
Pat was a past member of The California Native Daughters, The San Ferna ndo Kiwanettes, and a volunteer for The Florence Crittenton Home and Providence Holy Cross Hospital.
In death she follows her parents, Earl Jack and Agnes Catherine Reeves; and her husband, Harold "Hal" Hutchings.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Bird-Hopewell (Jim) and Lisa L. Ralphs (partner George Wierzbicki). She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Brian Bird (Mary), Heather Ralphs-Sanchez (John), Brandon Bird (Erika) and Christopher Ralphs; five and a half great grandchildren, Marrisa, Lynea and Joshua Bird, Kailey Bird and Devan Paige Sanchez, and Emma Nicole Sanchez to be born February 2007.
Pat was loved deeply by her many friends and family. We will all remember the good times we had with her, her great sense of humor, her loving touch and we know that she is not gone, but will live on in our hearts forever.
