Marion Shumate Edwards, 94 of Eden, passed away on Oct. 7, 2016 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County. She was born March 20, 1922 in Leaksville to R.D. and Pauline Wood Shumate. She was a graduate of Leaksville High School and attended Meredith College and National Business College. She was a member of Kings Highway Christian Church.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Garland S. Edwards; sisters, Anne Allender and Elizabeth Lamar; brother, R.D. Shumate, Jr. She is survived by son, Mike Edwards; daughter, Carol Edwards Hundley (Reggie); two grand children; 3 great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Overlook Cemetery.
