Anna Gae Germer Shaw
May 19, 1936 ~ September 19, 2016 (age 80)

"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal,
Love leaves a memory no one can steal."

On September 19, 2016 we lost our beloved angel, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister Anna Gae Germer Shaw. Anna was born May 19, 1936 to Wallace and Aileen Germer in Tremonton, Utah. She married her high school sweetheart Darrell Wilbur Shaw Sr. November 29, 1954. Darrell and Anna had 61 wonderful years together. During those years, they were blessed with seven children, nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Anna always devoted herself to being a loving, and generous example to those whose lives she touched.

Anna was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she faithfully served in many church positions including; Relief Society, Young Women, Primary, and the Cub Scouts. She was sealed to Darrell in the Logan LDS Temple Dec. 1955.

Anna was a supportive and loving wife to Darrell as he served active duty in the U.S Army. During those 27 years she tended to their children and instilled in them great character and family values. All of this as Darrell served three tours in Vietnam, and numerous other military operations that took him away from the family. Darrell's service in the Army presented the opportunity for Anna to travel and live in many places including; Germany, Hawaii, Arkansas and several other U.S states.

Anna had a kind soul and a deep love for all animals. She had a special love for Siamese cats. She loved to cook large meals for her extended family, church members and friends. It was impossible to keep Anna out of the kitchen even though her health was declining. The day before she passed away she made one of her family's favorite treats--rice pudding. She was an excellent seamstress and loved making clothing for her family and friends. Anna also loved art and would paint beautiful oils of outdoor scenery.

Anna is survived by her husband Darrell, and their children: Hollie Shaw of Tomah, WI., Darrell (Teressa) Shaw Jr. of Lamar, AR., Sunshine (Scott) Bitton of Ogden, UT., her brothers and sister: Doug (Silvia) Germer of Vanderhoof, BC., Jim Germer of Layton, UT., Reta Sue (Vic) Carson of Sandy, UT., nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Anna is preceded in death by her parents Wallace and Aileen Germer, daughter Shawnie Hicken, and sons Christopher, Joshua, and Kirk.

A viewing will be held for Anna on Friday September 23. Family and friends are invited to attend from 10 AM - 12:30 PM at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. Anna will be laid to rest next to her son Joshua in a family graveside service at the Fort Douglas Military Cemetery SLC, UT following the viewing at 2:30 PM.

Anna will be missed dearly and as we say our final goodbye "We love you." we can hear your voice answer back, "Love you more!"
