MICHAEL ALAN WOLSKI
April 27, 1954 – September 24, 2016

Michael Alan Wolski, 62, of Pleasanton, Calif., died peacefully at home Sept. 24, 2016, surrounded by family, after an extended illness. He was born April 27, 1954 in Marshfield, Wis., the son of Alvin A. and Florence M. (Soike) Wolski. They preceded him in death, along with a sister, Elizabeth Ann Stucky. When Mike was six months old, his family moved to Southern California. He attended St. Genevieve School in Panorama City, CA. During his high school years, he developed a talent and passion for football. After graduating from San Jose State University in 1977 with a BS in Administration of Justice, Mike began his career in security at the Emporium-Capwell Department Store in San Francisco. He later worked at Grand Auto. In 1985, he began his long and successful career at Sherwin-Williams as the Loss Prevention Director for the Western Division. After 28 years he retired in 2013. Mike was recognized at Sherwin-Williams not only for his professional expertise, but also for his fairness, work ethic, and integrity. He married Elvira Ann Duran in 1980. He later married Nancy Gail Simonds on Aug. 7, 1993 at the First Presbyterian Church, Livermore, CA. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Adam Michael Wolski (wife Elizabeth) of Mountain View, Calif., and Garrett Joseph Wolski (girlfriend Kiara Curzi) of Sunnyvale, Calif.; sisters Joan (husband Jim) Buehler, of Granada Hills, Calif., and Cynthia Wiles of Murrieta, Calif.; brother-in-law Darrel Stucky of Murrieta, Ca; sister-in-law, Sigrid Simonds of Millstadt, IL; brother-in-law Rodney Simonds (wife Karen) of Jacksonville, Ill.; sister-in-law Susan Simonds of Kirkland, Wash.; sister-in-law Robin (husband Paul) Leib of Geneseo, Ill.; and brother-in-law Bob Simonds of New Berlin, Ill... He also is survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. An avid golfer, Mike also enjoyed watching sports, especially the San Francisco 49ers and NASCAR racing. He found great peace at the ocean, appreciated good cars, and enjoyed watching Mecum Car Auctions. But his passion was spending time with his cherished family and friends, for whom he and Nancy hosted many gatherings in their home.

Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1 at Graham-Hitch Mortuary in Pleasanton, preceded by visitation from 10-11:30 a.m. Father Michael Pham will officiate. A private burial will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
