Thomas Calvin "Cal" Cloar was the son of James Calvin Cloar (b. about 1814 in Sumner County, TN, d. 1857 in Obion County, TN) and Ann (Woodson) Cloar 1814-1871.


His brother is David Halliburton Cloar, also buried in the Cloar Cemetery.


Cal served in the 2ND and 22ND TENNESSEE CAVALRY, CSA.


He married Olive Lucinda Glover in Obion CO, TN on June 22, 1865.


Following the passing of his first wife, Thomas married Obedience "Bittie" Clement in Obion CO, TN on September 08, 1878.


Thomas C. Cloar was appointed postmaster for Clayton, in Obion CO, TN on August 27, 1877.


Thomas drafted his will in March, 1900, and his will was presented to the Obion County Court in April 1900.


Thomas' grave is no longer marked, but he is believed to be buried in the Cloar Cemetery, where both of his wives are known to be buried.
