Walter Lee Etchinek passed away at the age of 52. He was born to John and Fay Etchinek. He and his family moved to Elko in 1954, where he lived through his school years. In 1972, Walter married Robyn Barney. They resided in Battle Mountain since 1973 where they raised their family. Walt drove truck for Silver State Truck Lines for 35 years, Nevada Transportation, F.M.C. and for John Davis Trucking for the past 3 years. He is survived by his wife of 33 years. He is also survived by his daughter, Kasia (Dave) Forster; grandchildren, Kirsten and Brandon of Orting, WA; a son, John (Sharon) Etchinek; and grandchild, Tyler of Battle Mountain. Chrissy of Las Vegas; mother, Fay Ward of Crescent Valley; sister, Julia (Garrett) Bennett; nephews, Cory Etchinek and Kyle Elquist of Fallon. He was preceded in death by his father, John and two nephews, Robert Negro and Tracy Bennett.
